Matthew 1

This is the record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:

Matthew 2

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,

Matthew 3

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea

Matthew 4

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Matthew 5

When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain and sat down. His disciples came to Him,

Matthew 6

“Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

Matthew 7

“Do not judge, or you will be judged.

Matthew 8

When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.

Matthew 9

Jesus got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own town.

Matthew 10

And calling His twelve disciples to Him, Jesus gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they could drive them out and heal every disease and sickness.

Matthew 11

After Jesus had finished instructing His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and preach in their cities.

Matthew 12

At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them.

Matthew 13

That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea.

Matthew 14

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus

Matthew 15

Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,

Matthew 16

Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came and tested Jesus by asking Him to show them a sign from heaven.

Matthew 17

After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.

Matthew 18

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

Matthew 19

When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.

Matthew 20

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.

Matthew 21

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent out two disciples,

Matthew 22

Once again, Jesus spoke to them in parables:

Matthew 23

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples:

Matthew 24

As Jesus left the temple and was walking away, His disciples came up to Him to point out its buildings.

Matthew 25

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

Matthew 26

When Jesus had finished saying all these things, He told His disciples,

Matthew 27

When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people conspired against Jesus to put Him to death.

Matthew 28

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
